In the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, at least 20 Indians find themselves stuck in the conflict zone. Officials have confirmed that these individuals are currently trapped in the midst of the hostilities. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) made an announcement today, disclosing that all 20 Indians have established contact with Indian authorities. MEA spokesperson Randeep Jaishwal stated that they are actively engaging with Russian authorities to facilitate the safe return of these individuals to India.
On February 23, the government acknowledged the presence of some Indians caught up in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Indian officials are coordinating with their Russian counterparts to arrange for the safe repatriation of these citizens. Reports have surfaced indicating that some individuals may have been coerced into participating in the war under the guise of job opportunities in Russia.
In response to these developments, the Center has issued crucial guidelines for Indians residing in Russia. The advisory urges individuals to avoid traveling to war-affected areas and emphasizes the importance of steering clear of any potentially dangerous situations.
