In Texas, a wildfire has caused widespread chaos. The weather department reported that the combination of extremely high temperatures and showers has led to the fire doubling in size. According to the A&M Forest Service, an extensive area of 2 lakh acres, covering 780 km, has been consumed by the flames.
The most significant fires include the Smokehouse Creek Fire, which has burned 100,000 acres, the Grapevine Creek Fire spanning 30,000 acres, and the Windy Ducey Fire covering 8,000 acres. Due to the high risk of fire, residents are being evacuated in multiple counties.
In East Texas, specifically in the Mills Creek and San Jacinto areas, a fire is raging, proving resistant to containment efforts. Texas State Governor Greg Abbott has personally reviewed the fire situation. Citizens are strongly advised to remain vigilant and take precautions against the ongoing fire threat.
