Saudi, Riyadh: Former Saudi intelligence official Saad al-Jabri has alleged that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman forged his father's signature on the royal decree initiating Saudi Arabia's ongoing war against Yemen's Houthi rebels. Al-Jabri, who now lives in Canada, claimed in a BBC interview that a credible source within the Saudi Interior Ministry confirmed Prince Mohammed signed the decree on behalf of King Salman, who was reportedly suffering from declining mental health at the time.

Saudi Arabia has not responded to these allegations, and the kingdom has previously dismissed al-Jabri as a "discredited former government official." The war, which began in 2015, has led to a severe humanitarian crisis, with over 150,000 people killed and widespread suffering. Prince Mohammed, then the defense minister, promised a swift resolution, but the conflict has persisted for nearly a decade.

Al-Jabri, who once worked for the former Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, has been embroiled in a legal and political dispute with Saudi Arabia. He claims that his children have been imprisoned to pressure him to return to the kingdom. Al-Jabri has also alleged that Prince Mohammed attempted to have him killed and even considered assassinating former King Abdullah.
