Belait District Celebrates Sultan 78th Birthday with Grand Finale

Brunei, Belait: The Belait District celebrated the grand finale of the nationwide get-together ceremony to mark His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah’s 78th birthday. Thousands of attendees and visitors welcomed the Sultan, who was accompanied by several members of the royal family, including the Crown Prince and other princes. Upon arrival, the royal entourage was greeted by enthusiastic students and the rhythmic beats of the hadrah, leading up to a vibrant celebration at the district’s Municipal Field.

The event commenced with the national anthem and a special performance titled “Raja Berdaulat Lagi Terhormat” or Sovereign Ruler, Most Honourable. This performance, featuring 378 students and youth members, highlighted the developments and advancements under His Majesty's leadership. It presented a blend of past and present achievements, cultural and social harmony, and aspirations for the future. The performance received acclaim from the audience, after which the royal family mingled with the performers and toured various booths set up around the field.

During the celebration, His Majesty interacted with thousands of attendees from diverse backgrounds, including people with different abilities, senior citizens, and representatives from various organizations. The event wrapped up with a luncheon at the Belait District Officer’s residence, after which the royal entourage returned to the capital. The ceremony not only celebrated the monarch's birthday but also underscored the unity and progress achieved under his reign.
