Seattle, Washington: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella described himself as a "product of the bond" between India and the United States during the Republic Day celebrations hosted by the Consulate General of India in Seattle. The event, part of India's 76th Republic Day observance, attracted over 500 attendees, including Washington State Governor Bob Ferguson and several U.S. Congress members. Nadella praised the collaboration between the two nations, particularly in terms of technology’s role in enhancing sectors like education, healthcare, and small business competitiveness.
Governor Ferguson also honored the contributions of the Indian-American community and committed to strengthening relations with the Consulate General of India. In a symbolic gesture, the Washington State Senate passed a resolution celebrating the India-US friendship.
The event, organized by Consul General Prakash Gupta, featured cultural exhibits, including "One District, One Product," showcasing India's diverse heritage, and a photo exhibit, "India through Tim's Eyes," by photographer Tim Durkan. The evening also included a traditional dance performance, "Natyam."
Seattle's landmarks, such as the Seattle Great Wheel and Convention Center, were lit up in the colors of the Indian tricolor, marking the occasion. Earlier, Nadella met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss Microsoft’s investment plans and its role in India's AI vision.
