13-Year-Old Boy Has Died After Being Shot By Police In New York

A 13-year-old boy, Nyah Mwa, was shot and killed by a policeman in Utica, America. The incident occurred when a police team investigating an armed robbery gang stopped two teenagers on bicycles, asking if they had any weapons.

Nyah Mwa ran and was chased by the police. He allegedly threatened them with a toy pellet gun, which was mistaken for a real weapon.

Officer Patrick Hashne shot Nyah in the chest during the struggle. The boy died at the hospital. The entire incident was recorded on a body camera.

Locals expressed outrage at a condolence meeting, criticizing the extreme precautions taken by police that resulted in the death of an innocent child.

The city mayor has promised an impartial investigation. Nyah's family had immigrated to America from Myanmar eight years ago.
