Firefighter Treated for Minor Injuries Following 2 Alarm House Fire in New Castle County

A firefighter sustained minor injuries during the response to a two-alarm fire in Wilmington, Delaware, on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. on North Lombard Street's 800 block. Firefighters rushed to the location following reports of a house fire. Upon arrival, smoke was visible from the roof of a two-story rowhome.

Authorities noted the fire's rapid spread, prompting additional crews to be summoned for assistance. Approximately 45 minutes later, responders managed to bring the fire under control.

The blaze resulted in significant damage to the home's roof and second floor, along with moderate damage to a neighboring residence's roof. Following the incident, one firefighter was taken to Wilmington Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Investigators are currently probing the cause of the fire.
