Santiago: Former President of Chile Sebastian Pinera (74) died in a helicopter accident. The helicopter Pinera was travelling in crashed into a lake in southern Chile. Pinera and three other people were in the helicopter when the accident happened.

Pinera was the only one who died in the accident while the others survived with injuries. Pinerane himself is said to have piloted the helicopter at the time of the accident. But this has not been officially confirmed. The Chilean Army announced that Pinera's body had been recovered.
