Man Pulls Gun When Burger King Won Accept Drugs as Payment

USA, Denver: A man, Eugene Robertson, was sentenced to 143 years in prison after a series of criminal acts on the night of October 17, 2022, in Aurora, a suburb of Denver. The incidents began when Robertson pointed a gun at a Burger King drive-thru worker who refused to accept drugs as payment. Later that night, Robertson was seen acting suspiciously while holding a Bible and subsequently shot at others in various locations.

Robertson, 40, was found guilty in April of 17 crimes, including eight counts of attempted murder. The sentences for these crimes were ordered to run consecutively, resulting in a lengthy prison term. Robertson faced a potential maximum sentence exceeding 400 years but was sentenced on August 9.

Eric Ross, a spokesperson for the 18th Judicial District Attorney's office, stated, "We consider this 143-year sentence justice for the multiple victims he frightened that night. Jurors recognized the severity of the crimes, and we believe the judge imposed an appropriate sentence."

Following the drive-thru incident, Robertson entered a nearby convenience store, where he pointed a gun at the clerk's head. Upon noticing the store's surveillance cameras, he shot at the camera before firing at two people outside in the parking lot. Witnesses reported that Robertson appeared "off" and was talking about God while carrying a purple-covered Bible.

Later, Robertson's friend called 911 after he fired shots when she refused to open her apartment door. Police later found Robertson hiding behind bushes at the apartment complex and took him into custody.
