USA: Indian-Origin Man Killed After Being Punched in the Face

Oklahoma: In a troubling incident in the USA, an Indian-origin man was murdered after being struck in the face. The incident took place in Oklahoma on June 22 and was recently reported.

The victim, Hemant Mistry, a 59-year-old native of Gujarat, had settled in the US a few years ago and worked as a motel manager in Oklahoma. On the day of the incident, a man named Richard Lewis arrived at the motel. A confrontation occurred, and Mistry instructed Lewis to leave. Enraged, Lewis punched Mistry hard in the face, causing him to collapse. Mistry was rushed to the hospital but died the next day from his injuries.

The police have arrested Richard Lewis and are investigating the reasons behind the altercation.

This incident follows another recent tragedy where Dasari Gopikrishna, a 32-year-old from Andhra Pradesh, was shot dead in Dallas. The assailant attempted to rob the store where Gopikrishna was on duty and opened fire, killing him instantly.
