Internet Desk: A sandstorm has broken out in the state of Xinjiang in China. It has affected cities so badly that even vehicles within a distance of at least 100 meters cannot be seen. The sky and atmosphere turned completely orange. Due to this, the authorities have taken urgent measures to prevent road accidents. The Chinese Meteorological Department has already issued the most severe warning of a sandstorm with strong winds. Temperatures will also drop drastically till February 22, it said.

The sandstorm hit the roads in Turpan, Xinjiang province. Vehicular traffic was stopped due to this. Thousands of people are trapped in these. They were shifted to safe places by police and fire department personnel. Many cities in Shaxi Province, neighboring Xinjiang, were covered in dust.

The national highway was closed at Yukon City in Gansu province. About 40,000 passengers had to stay on the side of the road. The situation turned worse as the sandstorm was accompanied by fog. The temperature has dropped drastically in many places. There are fears that many people may suffer serious health problems due to the dust spread in the atmosphere by this storm.
