King Charles to Visit Southport After Tragic Knife Attack

England, Southport: King Charles will visit Southport this week to meet the families of the three girls killed in a knife attack on July 29. The attack occurred during a summer dance group session at the Hart Space Community Centre. The victims included six-year-old Bebe King, nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar, and seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe. Bebe King was buried last weekend, and Alice had her funeral a week prior.

During his visit, King Charles will hold a private and emotional meeting with the families affected by the tragedy. He plans to express his gratitude to the emergency services who responded to the attack and managed the ensuing public disorder and riots. The King will also visit Southport Community Fire Station to discuss the response with Merseyside’s Police, Fire and Rescue, and Ambulance services. Faith leaders will be present, as the town’s mosque was targeted during the riots.

Eighteen-year-old Axel Muganwa Rudakubana has been charged with three counts of murder, ten counts of attempted murder, and possession of a bladed article. The inquest revealed that 26 children were at the dance class during the attack, with five children and two adults suffering serious injuries in addition to the three fatalities.
