Indian Student Nishi Ravi Honored with 2025 K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA: Nishi Ravi, a counseling psychology student from India studying at Marquette University, has been selected as one of the distinguished recipients of the 2025 K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award, presented by the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U).

This esteemed award is given to graduate students who exhibit outstanding leadership qualities in education, research, and community engagement.

Hailing from India, Ravi is a COSCA-certified counselor and a psychotherapist who provides queer-affirmative therapy. With extensive experience in both public and private sectors, she has worked with diverse populations across different age groups, including children, teenagers, adults, and senior citizens.

Her expertise lies in psychotherapy, psychological evaluations, and psychodiagnostic testing, helping clients navigate various emotional and psychological challenges.

Apart from her clinical practice, Ravi is an accomplished qualitative researcher and autoethnographer. She has conducted workshops, led group discussions, participated as a panelist, and delivered presentations at conferences across multiple countries, including India, the U.S., Scotland, and England.

Her research areas encompass therapist training, therapy methodologies, professional supervision, sex and disability, cultural influences, trauma, and personal lived experiences.

Dedicated to ethical and reflective therapeutic approaches, Ravi prioritizes fostering a safe and supportive environment for her clients.

Ravi is one of five scholars recognized with the 2025 K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award. The other awardees include:
