The Bathukamma-Dussehra celebrations in Sydney, Australia, were a grand success, attracting around 300 expatriate Indians. Organized by the Velama Association of Australia, the event highlighted the rich culture of Telangana.
The organizers thanked the Velama Committee members for their dedication and financial support over the past months. Key contributors included Nirsinga Rao Jegganangari, Rajesh Arshanapalli, and several others.
Since 2018, the Velama Association has celebrated Bathukamma and Dussehra, noting an increase in participation each year. Beyond festivities, they also assist poor families in India and support students facing financial hardships.
