Baton Rouge, USA: Mohit Vij, CEO of 365Labs, has been honored with the 2024 Hall of Distinction Eye of the Tiger Innovator Award by the Louisiana State University (LSU) Division of Computer Science and Engineering. This prestigious award recognizes his pioneering leadership, innovative advancements, and significant contributions to the fields of public safety, criminal justice, and first responder processes through cutting-edge technology solutions.

The award highlights Vij’s vision, innovation, and dedication, reflecting LSU's Tiger Spirit, symbolizing strength, resilience, and excellence.

Vij, an LSU alumnus with two master’s degrees, founded General Informatics, a technology firm based in Baton Rouge. Over two decades, the company expanded across seven states and earned the title of “Best in Nation” by Microsoft from over 6,000 IT firms.

In 2020, Vij launched 365Labs, a company widely recognized for its innovative public safety solutions. The company, named one of Inc. Magazine’s 20 Fastest Growing Companies in 2022, serves public safety agencies in 18 states and was named Baton Rouge’s Company of the Year in 2024.

Vij's entrepreneurial journey has earned him numerous accolades, including the “Champion of Louisiana” award from the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation, “Business Person of the Year,” “Top 40 Under 40” recognition by the Baton Rouge Business Report, and a finalist spot for Ernst & Young's “Entrepreneur of the Year.”

Upon receiving the award, Vij expressed gratitude and excitement, noting, “It’s a privilege to return to LSU and engage with the faculty and students, who are now focusing on applying AI to cybersecurity—a truly exciting time for computer science at LSU.”

Ibrahim Baggili, chair of the LSU Division of Computer Science and Engineering, praised Vij, saying, “Mo exemplifies the qualities every LSU student should aspire to: leadership, innovation, and a profound love for our state. His groundbreaking contributions to public safety have had a lasting, positive impact on thousands of lives.”

Vij delivered a keynote at the ceremony, titled "The Seven-Mile Journey," in which he shared insights from his global career path and how it ultimately led him to create his company just seven miles from LSU’s campus.

Vij holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (1994) and completed his Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering (1996) and Master of Science in Systems and Computer Science (1997) at LSU.
