Tragic Death of NRI Student: Lambton College Student Stabbed by Roommate in Canada

Canada, Ottawa: Gurasis Singh, a first-year Business Management student at Lambton College, tragically lost his life after a confrontation with his roommate on December 1. The incident, which began with a disagreement in their shared kitchen, quickly escalated when Crossley Hunter, 36, allegedly became enraged and stabbed Singh multiple times.

The police responded swiftly to an emergency call and apprehended Hunter on the spot. Unfortunately, Singh could not be saved and was declared dead at the scene due to severe injuries.

The devastating event has left not only Singh's friends and family heartbroken but also the entire college community. In a statement shared on social media, Lambton College described Gurasis as a bright and promising student and offered their condolences to his loved ones.

The college staff and community have expressed their support to the grieving family, offering assistance with funeral arrangements and repatriation.

In a statement, the Sarnia Police Chief confirmed that Hunter had been charged with second-degree murder. The police also clarified that, at this stage, the crime does not appear to have been racially motivated, though the investigation remains ongoing.
