9th World Telugu Literary Conference in Doha: A Grand Celebration of Telugu Culture with Global Luminaries

Doha, Qatar: The 9th World Telugu Literary Conference is set to take place for the first time in the Middle East, scheduled for November 22 and 23, 2024, in Doha, Qatar. The event will feature "Padma Vibhushan" awardee and former Vice-President of India, Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu, as the chief guest, accompanied by his family. The conference will commence with a welcome dance by local children, followed by the felicitation of educators. The Indian Ambassador to Qatar will also attend as a special guest.

Dignitaries from ten Middle Eastern countries, along with 75 speakers and 250 literary delegates from India, the US, Africa, and other regions, have registered for the event. Prominent figures, including ministers from Telugu-speaking states, film lyricists, poets, and scholars, are expected to participate. Post-conference arrangements have been made for attendees to explore the Doha metropolis.

A key highlight will be the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Prof. Rama Chandramouli of Warangal. The event will include literary discussions led by experts, readings by 35 distinguished poets, including film lyricist Mounashree Mallik, and the first-ever women’s Ashtavadhanam by Smt. Bulusu Aparna under the direction of Acharya Addanki Srinivas. Additionally, the conference will unveil 33 new literary works, including a sataka book by poet Jonnavithula, and launch a comprehensive website by the Vanguri Foundation of America.

On the first evening, November 22, 2024, a special dinner will be hosted for the invitees. Cultural performances, including musical renditions by popular singers Y.S. Ramakrishna and Lalitha (Hyderabad), Suchitra Balanthrapu of Kakinada, and Ramprasad from Visakhapatnam, will entertain guests. The event will also feature music and dance performances by local Doha artists.

Organizers are seeking financial support to cover event expenses and have attached a detailed statement for review. The conference will be live-streamed on the Vanguri Foundation of America’s YouTube channel. Key organizers include Vanguri Chitten Raju, Bhagavathula Venkappa, Vikram Sukhavasi, Radhika Mangipudi, Sai Rachakonda, and Vamsi Ramaraju.
