In a significant ruling in the murder case of a Telangana student, an Indiana court in the U.S. has sentenced 25-year-old defendant Jordan Andrade to 60 years in prison. The graduate student Varun Raj Pucha from Telangana was brutally murdered in a gym in October 2023. He was stabbed multiple times with a knife.

With the recent court ruling, Jordan Andrade will serve his sentence in the Indiana Department of Correction. However, it remains unclear whether the defendant will serve a traditional prison sentence or one that includes mental health facilities.

Telangana Student Murdered in the U.S.; Accused Sentenced to 60 Years in Prison

This tragic incident involving the Telangana student occurred on October 29 of last year at Planet Fitness Gym in Valparaiso. Varun Raj Pucha was attacked by Andrade with a knife while sitting in a massage chair. Varun sustained severe injuries and later died while receiving treatment at a hospital in Fort Wayne.

Varun was pursuing a master’s degree in computer science at Valparaiso University and was just two months away from completing his degree when he was murdered. He hailed from Khammam district in Telangana, and his father, P. Ram Murthi, works as a government school teacher.
