Why Are Indian Community Leaders Rallying Behind Mayor Bill McLeodss Re-election in Illinois?

Mayor Bill McLeod's re-election campaign is off to an impressive start, bolstered by strong community support and over $25,000 raised.

A fundraising event for Mayor McLeod's campaign was held on October 17 at the Marriott Chicago Northwest in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, generating more than $25,000.

Indian community leaders gathered to support McLeod, who is seeking a seventh term, and their fundraising efforts highlight the significant backing he enjoys. The election is set for April 2025.

Sunil Shah, the founder of the Federation of Indian Associations, expressed appreciation for McLeod's commitment to diverse communities, stating, “He is a friend to our community, ensuring that Hoffman Estates remains a welcoming and prosperous place.”

Local business leaders Amarbir Singh Ghoman and Harsharan Singh Ghoman praised the mayor’s pro-business initiatives, noting how they have created a supportive environment for businesses to succeed.

The evening commenced with Neil Khot, the president, CEO, and founder of Rely Services, who praised the mayor's commitment, stating, “He has turned Hoffman Estates from a quiet town into a vibrant community where both businesses and families can flourish.”

The event featured an array of talent, including performances by flutist Raju Bankapur and singer Hardik Tailor, complemented by a dinner offering a variety of Indian dishes.
