An earthquake struck the Himalayan country of Nepal, registering a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale, according to the National Center for Seismology. The epicenter was located 3 km from Gorkhakot, at a depth of 20 km. The tremors were recorded at around 7:52 PM on Friday evening.
Due to the earthquake's intensity, tremors were also felt in North India. Several regions in Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh experienced shaking. People in these areas were startled and panicked upon feeling the tremors.Fortunately, there was no reported loss of life or property. Just a day earlier, on Thursday, a 2.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Solapur district of Maharashtra.
