Adelaide murder case: Husband charged over death of Indian-origin woman at home!

Adelaide, Australia: Supriya Thakur, a 36-year-old woman of Indian origin, was discovered deceased at her home in the northern suburbs of Adelaide after police responded to reports of domestic violence. Her husband, 42-year-old Vikrant Thakur, was taken into custody and charged with murder.

According to authorities, Vikrant appeared before the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon, where he did not seek bail. He is expected to remain in remand until at least April next year.

Remembering Supriya, her friend Ella Butler told 9News that she should be honoured as a loving mother and a caring friend. The couple is believed to have a son, though officials have not confirmed whether the child was present in the house at the time of her death. Police stated that another individual was inside the residence, but was not harmed.

Investigators continued to examine the scene as Vikrant Thakur was denied bail and faced court proceedings. Prosecutors indicated that mobile phones belonging to the couple would be analysed, along with toxicology and DNA testing.

Emergency services were called to a property in Northfield around 8:30 pm on Sunday following reports of a domestic incident. Officers arrived to find the 36-year-old woman unconscious. Police said attempts were immediately made to resuscitate her, but despite CPR, she could not be saved.
