Alex Jones Alleges One Indian Region Dominates H-1B Program as Debate Intensifies

Washington, D.C., USA: Radio host Alex Jones has alleged that the H-1B visa program in the United States is being dominated by what he describes as a “mafia-like network” linked to a particular region of India. His comments appeared in a recently circulated video at a time when the debate over foreign skilled worker visas in the U.S. has been growing more intense.

Jones claimed that nearly 70% of H-1B approvals come from a single Indian region, arguing that such concentration gives one group disproportionate influence over the system. Although he repeatedly emphasised that he does not “hate Indians,” calling them intelligent and law-abiding, he insisted that their presence in the American workforce has expanded dramatically in just a few years.

According to him, Indian professionals now appear across nearly every employment sector. He said he frequently encounters Indian workers — even in restaurants — and suggested that Indian employees now make up a majority of the U.S. job market. Jones also remarked that many restaurant customers he sees are Indian as well.

Throughout his statements, he alternated between saying he has “nothing against Indians” and criticising what he claims is an organised effort by them to dominate employment opportunities. He referenced a viral video from India involving a cow dung festival to argue that Indian cultural practices do not align with American norms.

Jones’s remarks follow renewed political attention on the H-1B program. Former President Donald Trump recently stated that his administration would not take strong action against the visa category, arguing that the U.S. still depends on certain highly skilled foreign workers, citing examples from Korea and Taiwan.

Since India accounts for the largest share of H-1B recipients, much of the criticism surrounding the policy continues to focus on Indian workers. Jones asserted that “Indians hire only other Indians,” claiming this is why companies, including many in Silicon Valley, employ large numbers of Indian professionals. He also argued that most participants in the program come from a single “community or region,” leaving others in India with fewer opportunities.

He went on to accuse the same region of having the highest rates of dowry-related violence and compared what he describes as the Indian “takeover” of jobs to a form of occupation. Jones further alleged that Indian travellers in U.S. airports exploit loopholes, such as requesting wheelchairs to obtain certain benefits.

Jones did not present any evidence to verify his claims, though the video continues to circulate widely amid the ongoing debate about America’s reliance on foreign skilled labour.
