Boston Indian Americans Mark 9 by 11 With WTC Memorial Tribute

Boston, Massachusetts, USA: The Indian-American community in Boston came together to honor the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, installing a preserved piece of steel from the World Trade Center as a powerful symbol of remembrance and unity.

The Federation of Indian Associations of New England (FIA-New England), alongside local community members, hosted a special memorial ceremony in Westborough, Massachusetts.

The tribute recognized the nearly 3,000 victims of the 2001 attacks, including 41 people of Indian origin, as well as the brave first responders who sacrificed their lives during rescue operations.

At the heart of the observance was the unveiling of a preserved metal fragment from the Twin Towers. The artifact, now permanently displayed, serves as a lasting reminder of resilience, collective strength, and the profound impact of that tragic day.

Participants placed flowers near the memorial and observed moments of silence, reflecting on both the devastating losses and the extraordinary heroism witnessed during the attacks. “This steel is not just metal—it carries the memory of lives lost, the bravery displayed, and the unity that followed,” shared one of the organizers.

Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of teaching future generations about September 11 and nurturing a culture of peace.

The commemoration concluded with reflections on resilience, togetherness, and the community’s promise to keep the memory alive.
