Chinese Embassy in Dominica Hosts Open House Event

China, Dominica: On July 22, the Chinese Embassy in Dominica organized an Open House event, welcoming approximately 70 children from Roseau and the Chinese community in Dominica to experience Chinese culture firsthand. The event was attended by MP and Housing Minister Hon. Melissa Poponne-Skerrit, Chinese Ambassador H.E. Chu Maoming, embassy staff, and representatives from Chinese institutions and businesses in Dominica. The event also received coverage from major local media outlets.

Ambassador Chu greeted the children and provided a brief overview of traditional Chinese culture and modern achievements. He encouraged them to engage with Chinese culture, consider visiting China in the future, and use their experiences to contribute to the development of their hometowns.

Hon. Melissa Poponne-Skerrit expressed her gratitude to the Embassy for organizing the event, highlighting China's steadfast support for Dominica during difficult times. She expressed hope that the children would deeply appreciate Chinese culture and continue to value the strong friendship between Dominica and China.

The children took part in a range of activities, immersing themselves in Chinese culture. They learned Chinese, attended Huai opera and dance performances, and engaged in group activities like paper-cutting, calligraphy, and making dumplings, all while savoring the vibrant atmosphere of Chinese traditions.
