Allen, Texas, USA: Thousands of devotees and families gathered in Allen, Texas, as the Radha Krishna Temple of Dallas organised an elaborate 11-day Navratri and Dussehra celebration from September 21 to October 1. The event blended devotion, culture, and community spirit, filling the temple with vibrant colours, rhythmic beats, and joyous energy.
Each evening featured lively Garba and Dandiya Raas dances, accompanied by a professional music troupe from India. The celebrations brought together participants of all ages, rejoicing in the symbolic victory of good over evil. To involve younger devotees, the temple also hosted dedicated “Kids’ Garba” sessions, encouraging children to experience Indian traditions in an interactive and entertaining way.

“These celebrations are a wonderful way for children to stay connected to their cultural roots while having fun,” said Priya Sharma, the temple’s event coordinator.
The festivities culminated on October 1 with a grand Dussehra event held in the temple courtyard. The evening featured an impressive Ramleela stage play, followed by the dramatic burning of a 27-foot Ravan effigy amid dazzling fireworks. As the effigy ignited, chants of “Jai Shree Ram!” echoed through the crowd, creating a powerful moment of unity and devotion.

Temple officials emphasised that such events strengthen community bonds while preserving Indian traditions for generations to come. “Our mission is to bring people together, honour our heritage, and share these cultural values with the next generation,” said temple president Ramesh Patel.
