The rejection rate of F-1 visas has nearly doubled compared to a decade ago. According to statistics from the U.S. State Department, in the 2023-24 fiscal year, 6.79 lakh applications were submitted for F-1 visas, out of which 2.79 lakh applications were rejected by officials.
In the previous 2022-23 fiscal year, out of 6.99 lakh applications, officials denied 2.53 lakh applications. Similarly, in the 2013-14 fiscal year, 7.69 lakh students applied for visas, and 1.73 lakh applications were rejected.Compared to that period, the number of rejections last year has nearly doubled. However, the U.S. has not disclosed the country-wise breakdown of rejected applications.
