Glasgows Mother Earth Hindu Temple Hosts Vibrant Bathukamma Celebrations

Glasgow, Scotland, USA: The Mother Earth Hindu Temple in Glasgow came alive on Saturday with the grand celebration of the Bathukamma festival, held as part of Navratri festivities. The event was formally inaugurated by Temple President Dr. Puneet Bedi and Vice President, under the guidance of Mamata Vusikala.

The temple, which has been celebrating Navratri for the past three years to showcase the diverse cultures of India, highlighted the Bathukamma festival this year. The program was successfully organized in coordination with Mamata Vusikala, Vinila Battula, their friends, and temple committee members.

Women dressed in traditional attire created beautiful Bathukammas with vibrant flowers and joined in singing traditional songs. Cultural performances, including Kolatam dance, added to the festive atmosphere, leaving the audience delighted.

The temple resonated with devotion and joy as families and friends gathered to celebrate together. Later, the Bathukammas were immersed in a nearby lake, marking the ritual’s completion. The celebrations concluded with a community lunch, where everyone enjoyed a hearty meal. Participants expressed their happiness and cherished the festival’s spiritual and cultural spirit.
