India’s SSB caught 60 inmates along the India-Nepal border amid mass prison breaks in Nepal, 22 in UP, 10 in Bihar, and 3 in West Bengal. Earlier, 12–13 inmates were injured when the Nepalese Army fired to stop a mass escape at Ramechhap Prison.

SSB has intensified patrolling and ID checks along the 1,751-km border to prevent fugitives from entering India. Apprehended prisoners have been handed over to the police for investigation.
