Indian Man Gets 17-Year US Prison Term for Smuggling 8M USD Worth of MDMA

Delaware, Wilmington, USA:  U.S. federal prosecutors announced that an Indian man has been sentenced to over 17 years in prison after being caught transporting nearly $8 million worth of MDMA across the Canadian border.

Law enforcement officers discovered several backpacks and a suitcase filled with 174 pounds of the drug inside the van he was driving at the time of his arrest.

On August 29, U.S. District Judge Thomas O. Rice sentenced 31-year-old Jaskaran Singh from Punjab, India, to 17 years and six months in prison for possession with intent to distribute 173.7 pounds of MDMA, commonly known as “Molly.”

Singh had previously entered the United States through the asylum program. Once his prison sentence is complete, authorities confirmed he will be deported from the country.
