Indian-American Author Deepak Chopra Appears in Newly Released Epstein Documents: What the Emails Reveal
Washington, D.C., USA: Recently disclosed files from Jeffrey Epstein’s digital archive reveal a brief email exchange between the late financier and Indian-American author Deepak Chopra. The documents were made public last week by Democratic lawmakers, adding pressure on federal authorities to release the complete Epstein records. The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act with an overwhelming 427–1 vote, and the Senate approved it unanimously. With the bill signed into law by President Donald Trump, the Department of Justice now has 30 days to make all unclassified Epstein-related documents public.
The emails, dated November 2016, reference reports that a woman named Katie Johnson had dropped a civil lawsuit claiming Donald Trump had sexually assaulted her at an event allegedly hosted by Epstein when she was 13. Trump’s legal team denied the allegations, and the case was dismissed before formal hearings. According to the records, Epstein shared a news link with Chopra about Johnson withdrawing the lawsuit. Chopra responded by asking whether Johnson had also dropped separate allegations against Epstein himself. Epstein’s reply was brief, and Chopra’s follow-up was a simple “Good.” No further communication between them is recorded.
The emails do not suggest any financial transactions, business arrangements, or personal involvement between Chopra and Epstein beyond this exchange.

Context of the Epstein Documents
These newly released files are part of a broader wave of disclosures regarding Epstein’s associates, communications, and activities. Since Epstein’s death in 2019, thousands of pages have highlighted his connections to political leaders, business executives, academics, and cultural figures.
Importantly, there are no allegations of illegal conduct against Chopra. The emails do not indicate that he had knowledge of or participated in any wrongdoing. His limited appearance in the archive stems solely from Epstein forwarding a news link during a period of heightened media scrutiny. Chopra has previously confirmed attending professional or social events with Epstein, as did many public figures, but has consistently denied any inappropriate involvement.
