Indian student Neelam Shinde (35) is in critical condition after a road accident in the US. The accident occurred on February 14, and she has been in the ICU since then. Reports suggest that she has now slipped into a coma. Neelam hails from Satara district in Maharashtra. Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule responded to this incident, urging the Indian government to grant emergency visas to her parents so they can visit their daughter. She made this request via X (Twitter).
Meanwhile, the driver responsible for the accident has been taken into police custody. Neelam’s father, Tanaji Shinde, stated that the accident took place on February 16, and since then, they have been trying to obtain a visa. However, they have not received one yet. In response, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule approached External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for help in securing the visa. She requested the central government to resolve the issue quickly and assured the family of her support.
Reports indicate that Neelam sustained fractures in her arms and legs, along with severe head injuries that led to her coma. She has been living in the US for the past four years and was about to complete her studies this year. Unfortunately, the accident occurred before she could finish her education.
