Santa Clara, California: Mohammed Nizamuddin, a 30-year-old software engineer from Telangana, lost his life after being shot by police in Santa Clara, California, following an alleged altercation with his roommate involving a knife.

The September 3 incident came after a 911 call reporting a violent fight. Police stated that he ignored warnings before officers fired.

His family in Mahabubnagar has appealed to the MEA and Telangana government to repatriate his body, questioning the quick police response.

Nizamuddin had moved to the US in 2016 for studies and was recently promoted at work.
