KFC Moves Headquarters from Kentucky to Texas: A Historic Shift

Kentucky Fried Chicken, commonly known as KFC, is a globally renowned brand with millions of fans, from kids to elders. This American fast-food giant has made a crucial decision to relocate its headquarters from Louisville, Kentucky, to Plano, Texas. However, the company announced that some operations will still continue in Kentucky.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear expressed disappointment over KFC’s decision, stating that even the brand's name starts with their state's name. He mentioned that KFC used Kentucky’s culture and heritage to sell its products and noted that the brand’s founder, Colonel Harland Sanders, would have been saddened by this move.

Texas has been reducing corporate taxes for years, creating a business-friendly environment that has attracted several American companies. KFC was originally founded in the 1930s in Corbin, Kentucky, as a small fried chicken stall near a service station by Colonel Sanders. Due to its unique taste, the brand quickly gained popularity and now operates over 24,000 outlets in more than 145 countries. The iconic face seen at every KFC outlet belongs to its founder, Colonel Sanders.
