Kremlin Slams Trumps Nuclear Rhetoric Over Medvedev Clash

Russia has urged caution over nuclear rhetoric after Donald Trump announced plans to deploy two nuclear submarines near Russia.

This move followed an online clash between Trump and former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who warned against issuing ultimatums and called it a step toward war.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized the importance of nuclear non-proliferation and urged restraint in such statements.

He also acknowledged the visit of Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, to Moscow, calling it “important and helpful,” with a potential meeting with President Putin.

Trump said he shortened his Ukraine ceasefire deadline due to “disappointment” with Putin, prompting his decision to position the submarines in response to Medvedev’s “provocative” remarks.
