Seoul: In the presidential elections held on Tuesday in South Korea, Liberal Party candidate Lee Jae-myung achieved a massive victory with over 85% of the vote. His Conservative rival, Kim Moon-soo from the People's Power Party, conceded defeat. Lee declared that this was a "day of judgment" on the martial law imposed by former President Yoon Suk-yeol in 2024. Lee’s party-led parliament had impeached Yoon in December last year.

Citing the proverb “a friend in need is a friend indeed,” more than 200 prisoners escaped from the jail during minor earthquakes that had been occurring in Karachi for the past week. The incident took place last Monday night.The escapees included several individuals involved in drug-related crimes, and many of them were reported to have mental health issues.
