Minister Lokesh Arranges Special Flight to Rescue AP Citizens from Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal: Nara Lokesh, the Minister for IT, Human Resource Development, and Electronics & Communications, has initiated urgent measures to safely bring back Andhra Pradesh residents who are currently stranded in Nepal. He convened an emergency review session with officials at the Real Time Governance Society office located in the Secretariat. During the meeting, officials briefed the Minister about Telugu citizens stuck in various parts of Nepal. Preliminary reports indicate that approximately 240 Telugu individuals are stranded, with 90 in Gaushalas, 55 in Pashupati Nagar, 27 in Bafal, 12 in Similkot, and others in different locations. Minister Lokesh connected with the stranded individuals via video call to assess the situation firsthand.

The Minister instructed authorities to organize a special flight to evacuate the stranded residents from Kathmandu to Visakhapatnam. Senior officers, including Arja Srikanth, Kartikeya Mishra, Mukesh Kumar Meena, Kona Shashidhar, Ajay Jain, Himanshu Shukla, and Jayalakshmi, have been assigned to ensure immediate assistance and safe evacuation. Minister Lokesh emphasized that updates on the welfare of the evacuees should be reported every two hours.

Further, the Minister directed that all measures be taken to ensure the prompt return of Andhra Pradesh residents, maintaining continuous coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs. Officials assured him that the evacuation process is already underway.
