Myanmar Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 3,354: Over 4,800 Injured and Hundreds Missing

Myanmar continues to witness a trail of death and destruction. The death toll from the massive earthquake that struck the region a week ago has now risen to 3,354, according to the latest reports. Another 4,850 people were injured, and around 220 individuals are reported missing, as per local media updates on Saturday.

It is known that a powerful earthquake struck Myanmar on the afternoon of March 28. Within minutes, tremors of 7.7 and 6.3 magnitude were recorded. The quakes caused severe damage to roads, bridges, and houses, with many buildings reduced to rubble.

Rescue operations involving personnel from multiple countries are currently ongoing in the affected areas. Meanwhile, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) has warned that the death toll could potentially surpass 10,000 due to the scale of the disaster.
