Mysterious Disease in Congo Claims 53 Lives, Authorities on High Alert

Kinshasa (Congo): A mysterious disease is taking lives in Congo, particularly in the country's northwestern region. Over the past five weeks, more than 50 people have succumbed to this illness. Initially, three children who ate a bat fell ill.

Later, the disease spread, leading to several deaths. Symptoms include fever, vomiting, and internal bleeding, with many affected individuals dying within 48 hours. So far, 419 cases have been reported, with 53 confirmed deaths.The outbreak was first detected in Boloko village in January. Authorities are investigating the cause and possible containment measures to prevent further spread.
