Austin, Texas, USA: The North American Telugu Association (TANA) has once again launched its school program aimed at teaching Telugu to children living in the United States. This year, the initiative has expanded to multiple cities across the country.
Recently, TANA began its 6th year of Telugu instruction in Austin, starting the sessions with a prayer led by student Aryashree. The program continues its mission to promote Telugu language learning among the younger generation.
Rajani Maram, a teacher and national-level co-chairperson of the school, officially inaugurated the classes and shared her message with attendees. She highlighted that, with the support of TANA senior members, the classes have resumed this year. For the last two years, the Austin Independent School District (AISD) at Patton Elementary School has hosted classes for Telugu-speaking children. Families from Austin and nearby areas were encouraged to enroll their children and actively participate in preserving their mother tongue. During the event, she introduced TANA leaders and instructors, including Vasavi, Shweta, Rajesh, and Anusha.
TANA President Naren Kodali, Treasurer Raja Kasukurthy, and School Chairman Bhanu Maguluri also extended their greetings to the students and parents present. On the same day, registered students received their books and certificates. The event included Telugu pronunciation lessons and marked the completion of two successful years of Telugu education at AISD’s Patton Elementary. Students and their families attended in good numbers, and the session concluded with Rajani Maram expressing gratitude to everyone for their participation.
