On this occasion, Modi gifted books to Musk’s children, including The Crescent Moon by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, Panchatantra by Vishnu Sharma, and books by R.K. Narayan.
Modi shared pictures of this meeting on social media, expressing happiness about meeting Musk’s family. The images showed Musk’s children reading the gifted books. During their discussion, Modi and Musk talked about strengthening India-U.S. collaboration in space, mobility, technology, innovation, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development. Meanwhile, Trump stated that Musk is interested in expanding business in India but mentioned that high tariffs pose challenges.
Elon Musk played a key role in Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential elections. He is now heading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in Trump’s administration, holding a crucial position. Recently, Trump signed an executive order granting special powers to DOGE. Musk has been seen accompanying Trump in several important meetings, leading to criticism that he has an increasing influence in the administration.
