During rehearsal flights for the Radom Airshow on Thursday, a Polish Air Force F-16 met with a fatal crash, leading to the loss of its pilot.

 The incident forced the cancellation of the major aviation event.

Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz called it a “great loss” and offered condolences. Videos showed the jet losing control before crashing and catching fire.

No civilians were injured, and an investigation is underway. Local media suggest the pilot may have been Major Maciej “SLAB” Krakowian, though his identity is unconfirmed.
