They discussed when to move Pope Francis’ body to Saint Peter’s Basilica for public viewing and when to conduct the funeral. It was decided to move the body to Saint Peter’s Basilica on Wednesday for public homage. The Cardinals decided that the funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 AM (Italian local time), as announced by Vatican City.

Following the death of Pope Francis, the Vatican released the first photo showing him in an open coffin, with the Vatican’s Foreign Affairs Secretary seen praying. The Vatican has declared a nine-day mourning period. Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump announced that he would attend Pope Francis' funeral in Rome along with his wife Melania.
