Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman signed a mutual defence pact in Riyadh, declaring that an attack on either nation will be treated as an attack on both.
India said the deal formalizes a long-standing arrangement and will be studied for its security implications.
The agreement builds on decades of Saudi-Pak ties and comes amid tense India-Pakistan relations after the Pahalgam terror attack.
Meanwhile, India-Saudi ties have deepened under PM Modi, with Riyadh naming India its second-largest trading partner.
