Jersey City, New Jersey, USA: Indian-American entrepreneur Suchitra Kamath has earned a place in Marquis Who’s Who for her achievements as a franchise consultant, where she continues to guide investors and aspiring business owners toward the right opportunities.
Kamath, who has been active in the franchise sector since 2016, is the founder of Business Karma, a firm dedicated to matching investors and entrepreneurs with ventures aligned with their personal goals, financial plans, and lifestyles. Alongside her franchise advisory role, she also supports nonprofit groups by sharing her expertise in strategic growth and organizational development. Over the years, she has gained recognition for enabling individuals to pursue long-term, sustainable businesses.
Before stepping into entrepreneurship, Kamath built an extensive career in global banking. She worked as a Vice President at Citigroup, specializing in client management and product development on the trading floor. She later joined Barclays Investment Bank in New York, where she contributed to the Americas division within the chief operating officer’s office.
Outside the corporate space, Kamath is also recognized as a community leader. She was appointed by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy to the New Jersey–India Commission and currently serves on the Middlesex County Board of Social Services. Additionally, she is involved in initiatives that encourage women’s political participation, including her role with Inspiring South Asian American Women.
Her accomplishments have earned her several honors, such as the Rising Star Entrepreneurial Award from the New Jersey Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards and formal recognition from U.S. Senator Bob Menendez during Immigrant Heritage Month in 2020.
Kamath’s academic credentials include a master’s degree in library and information sciences from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in instrument technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She also holds professional certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM).
