Trump New Travel Ban: 11 Countries Face U.S. Entry Restrictions

From the beginning of his administration, Trump has been implementing various resolutions that have caused global concerns. Now, he has issued an ultimatum, stating that citizens from 11 countries will no longer be allowed to enter the U.S. The draft proposal outlines travel restrictions on various nationalities, categorizing affected countries into three groups: complete travel bans, stricter visa restrictions, and those given a grace period to resolve compliance issues.

The countries facing a complete entry ban include Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen. Citizens from these nations can still apply for U.S. visas, but approvals will be significantly reduced or subject to intense scrutiny. Additionally, another set of politically sensitive and authoritarian-led nations—Belarus, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Turkmenistan—will face heightened visa restrictions.

A grace period of 60 days has been granted to countries such as Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, and Mali to comply with U.S. security measures and avoid strict travel bans. These restrictions will severely impact citizens traveling for work, education, and family visits, while also straining diplomatic relations and economic exchanges. The listed countries were selected based on factors like security threats, visa overstay rates, and foreign policy concerns. The draft is still under review, and affected nations may engage in diplomatic discussions to seek amendments before a final decision is made.
