Trump Revokes 500,000 Immigrants Residency, Mass Deportations Expected

The Trump administration is taking strict action against illegal immigration. Since Donald Trump took office as the U.S. President, he has been aggressively cracking down on illegal immigrants. Many undocumented immigrants, including those from India, have already been deported. Recently, the U.S. government revoked the temporary residence status of 500,000 immigrants, who are now facing deportation. This move aligns with Trump's election campaign promise to take strong measures against illegal immigration.

The Trump administration has canceled parole programs for over 500,000 immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), these immigrants may be deported within a month, with the order taking effect from October 2022. The DHS identified approximately 532,000 individuals from these four countries who had initially received permission to stay and work in the U.S. for two years under economic sponsorship. However, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stated that their legal status will expire within 30 days.

Under humanitarian parole, immigrants could legally work in the U.S. for two years and then apply for refugee status or a visa to extend their stay. However, after Trump took office, the processing of such applications was halted. As a result, the U.S. has now revoked the residence status of 500,000 individuals from these four countries, leaving them vulnerable to deportation.
