Washington, D.C., USA: U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the United States is on the verge of finalising a trade agreement with India. The potential deal aims to strengthen economic and security partnerships between the two nations, increase American energy exports, and encourage investments in vital U.S. industries.
Speaking at the White House during the swearing-in ceremony of Sergio Gor as the U.S. ambassador to India, Trump emphasised that the forthcoming arrangement would mark a significant shift from previous trade deals.
“We’re moving toward a fair and balanced trade agreement,” Trump stated while addressing reporters in the Oval Office. Reaffirming his confidence in the progress, he added, “We’re getting close.”
