Typhoon Ragasa Disaster: Devastating Videos From Taiwan And China

Typhoon Ragasa has caused massive destruction in Taiwan and China, with winds of 195–200 km/h and torrential rains.

In Taiwan, flooding is unprecedented, and at least 14 people have died after Barrier Lake overflowed in Hualien, while 124 remain missing. Offices were inundated, and videos of the devastation have gone viral.

The storm is moving toward China’s Guangdong province and Hong Kong, prompting evacuations. Residents in low-lying areas rushed to safer places as strong winds hit. China’s National Meteorological Center predicts landfall between Taishan and Zhenjiang in Guangdong, with heavy rains expected across Guangdong and Fujian. The typhoon is moving west-northwest at about 22 km/h.
