U.S. Slaps 245% Tariff on Chinese Imports Amid Escalating Trade War

New York: The United States has taken a tough stance against China by significantly increasing import tariffs up to 245%. This move comes amidst the ongoing trade war between the two countries. The White House clarified that this action was taken as a countermeasure to China's previous hike in tariffs on American products. As part of the "America First" trade policy, former President Trump had already imposed heavy tariffs on many countries — but the highest hike was imposed on Chinese imports.

Following the U.S. decision to increase import tariffs, China also made a key move just two days ago. It instructed its domestic airlines not to purchase aircraft produced by the American company Boeing. Additionally, China directed that its airlines must not procure spare parts from Boeing either.

Just a day after China’s announcement, the U.S. retaliated by increasing tariffs on goods imported from China to 245%. The White House confirmed that this was a direct response to China's actions and part of ongoing measures in the trade conflict.
