Three people were killed and one seriously injured after a helicopter crashed during a training flight on the Isle of Wight.

Four individuals were aboard the aircraft, and one of them was transported to University Hospital Southampton for treatment.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch has launched a probe, while operator Northumbria Helicopters confirmed its aircraft was involved.

Emergency services responded at 09:24 local time, sealing off the crash site near Shanklin. The chopper, a G-OCLV model, was badly damaged, aerial footage showed.
